Checkmark IT is delighted to announce the hire of Phil O’Brien, an award-winning salesperson with more than 20 years of experience delivering complex sales for Xerox, Compaq and HPE.  

 

A member of the British Computer Society, Phil joins us as UK & Ireland Regional Sales Manager, following 18 years of outstanding sales performance as an Enterprise Account Manager with HPE. 

 

A three-time winner of HPE’s Worldwide Sales Award (2000, 2002, 2005), Phil led a number of impressive projects with HPE, including the three-year contract to supply the compute technology for the Paddy Power Betfair Private Cloud. Paddy Power Betfair, now has one of the most technologically advanced Openstack Cloud Platforms. 

 

In addition, in 2018 he led the team that successfully completed the first and largest HPE  GreenLake deal in the world on behalf of Hudson Advisors, a globally integrated asset management company. The project involved:

  • Technical pre-sales
  • Product sales specialists
  • HPE GreenLake product and financial specialists
  • HPE Pointnext advisory services consultants
  • An HPE distribution partner

 
The sale took four months to complete due to its technical complexity - the infrastructure included:

  • HPE 3PAR enterprise arrays
  • HPE Backup Solutions
  • HPE Synergy Frames
  • HPE GreenLake Pay-as-you-go Metric
  • HPE Pointnext Consultancy and Advisory Services
